Lindsey Burns
Birth Doula
Postpartum Doula
Stillbirthday Bereavement Doula
Lindsey (she/her) is a Certified Birth, Postpartum & Stillbirthday Bereavement Doula. She remembers feeling called to birth work as early as 7 years old when her parents suffered a stillbirth. She witnessed firsthand how difficult a loss and/or postpartum period can be.
After many years of helping family and friends, Lindsey began her professional doula journey in 2011 shortly after the birth of her second baby. At the time she lived in Northern Virginia and served about a dozen families in between raising her own children. After some life changes including two more babies and a move to Michigan, she became a Certified Birth & Postpartum Doula through BEST Doula Training in July 2025. Since 2011, in addition to her BEST doula certifications, she has earned certification as a Stillbirthday Bereavement Doula (2017), the Postpartum Support International Certificate Training in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (2018) and as a Placenta Arts Specialist with Association of Placenta Preparation Arts (2018) (no longer providing placenta services). Lindsey is committed to staying up to date on recent information and continuing her education. Currently, she is enrolled in Adjoyn’s “Babywearing as a Perinatal Professional”program with hopes upon completion she can teach families how to safely use babywearing.
While Lindsey is passionate about doula work, she also enjoys spending time with family, day trips to the lakeshore, cuddling with her black cat and going on paranormal investigations.
