Jaclyn is passionate about creating margin and reducing overwhelm so that mothers and their families can soak up the enjoyable moments of having a baby. She has always had an instinct for nurturing and caregiving. Prior to becoming a mother of two, she was employed in areas where her compassion and desire to serve others has manifested. Her experience includes years of babysitting, directly caring for people with traumatic brain injuries, advocating for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and being a nanny.
Jaclyn received her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Grand Valley State University with an emphasis in Women and Gender Studies. Jaclyn is First Aid/CPR/AED Certified, is working toward her DONA Postpartum Certification, and has cross-certified as a ProDoula Postpartum and Infant Care Doula.
Becoming a mother is what fueled her desire for this work. After facing some challenges during her own postpartum season, she began meeting other women with similar experiences. Once she learned more about the role of a postpartum doula, she knew it was one she wanted to embody.
Jaclyn lives with her husband, two children, and sweet Boxer puppy in Grand Rapids. She enjoys baking, yoga, film photography, hiking, and spontaneous dance parties.
I was so grateful to have Jaclyn as my postpartum doula! She was intuitive with the needs of my home and family, respectful of my desires to rest/retreat, and a great assent to have in the mornings for my husband to get out the door for work. I will never not have a postpartum doula! It was exactly what I needed!
